Being average doesn’t seem like much to strive for, yet it can mean everything for children who yearn to do things in a regular kid way. Camp BraveHearts gives these children that chance during a week at the Center for Courageous Kids in Scottsville, Ky. Children ages 6 to 16 who have congenital heart disease, who have undergone heart surgery, or who require medical treatment for heart disease get to experience summer camp as it was meant to be—the adventure of a lifetime!
Caring for the medical needs of a child with a congenital heart defect requires a specialized team of professionals – a team that exists at Kosair Children’s Hospital. As medical advances are made in the field, our local doctors must adapt.
One need for the medical team at Kosair Children’s Hospital right now is an ICU designated for heart patients. Over the next five years our fundraising goal is to contribute $100,000 toward this effort and to expand programs and facilities for heart patients at Kosair Children’s Hospital.
